Mav Select Fall 2024 Season

Welcome to Mav Select Middle School Lacrosse! 

Mav Select is a Meridian Middle School team associated with Middle Schools feeding into Mountain View High School.  MavSelect is a club team playing within the Idaho Middle School Lacrosse Association (IMSLA).  The team is comprised of 5^th, 6th, 7th and 8th Graders who will attend Mountain View High School.  The program is closely aligned with the High School coaches and players to ensure we’re teaching our youth the Mav Way.

If you have NEVER played lacrosse and looking to learn, we can help.  We have access to extra equipment; helmets, gloves, pads, and sticks.  All you need to provide is a mouth piece and athletic apparel and shoes.

For players who have played the game… Do you:

• Have established stick skills?
• Have a strong work ethic?
• Have an advanced lacrosse IQ?
• Demonstrate leadership?
• Respond well to coaching?
• LOVE Lacrosse?
• If you possess some or all of these qualities and believe you have what it takes to become a Maverick Lacrosse player come play with us!

And, if you know of an athlete that might be good at lacrosse, please have them send an email to mavselect@outlook.com and a board member will reach out and answer any questions. 

NEW Fall Season Game Format:

• SIXES or 6v6
• General Rules
• NO long poles
• Short sticks only
• 30 Second shot clock

Coaches:

• Head Coach: Kam Jackson
• Assistant Coach: Mike Bagley
• Assistant & Goalie Coach: Brogan Rice

Season Dates:  

• Practice - Start week of August 19th at Victory Middle School. (Monday and Thursday – Times TBD based on light)
• Games - Start September 7th and run through October 12th.  Start times will be on Saturdays at 10:00 or 12:00 depending on the week but are subject to change. 
• Playoffs - TBD

Season Costs:

• Costs are $250 (Uniforms will be provided but must be returned)
• US Lacrosse Membership is required – $30

IMSLA Teams:

• Boise, Eagle, Kuna, Mtn. View, Rocky Mountain, Timberline, Owyhee, Valivue, Bishop Kelly, Middleton

Equipment for 2024:

• A reminder about the new chest pads:  US Lacrosse rules require that all chest protectors must meet the NOCSAE performance standard ND200 in order to be deemed legal for play.  Players in boys lacrosse must wear protection that meets the NOCSAE performance standard and contains an SEI certification mark.
• Mouthguard, Gloves, helmet with facemask, chinstrap (mandatory), chest protection, elbow and other pads optional.
